Too Close

The Nikkei Marketing Journal (Oct. 13 issue) reports that there's a good-old-day shop Matsunoya near my apartment, which opened this past January.

Nine months, and belated first visit.
In the late afternoon, the shop was cozily dark and smelled woody and spicy.

Don't know why, but I always scrabble a lot of arrows (--> ya) while on the phone:

A rain of --> marks.

Actually, I don't think I can take phone notes without them.
Probably my brain recognizes --> as a "got-it" program code.

Singing Flowers

I've been kind of sad lately.
So I really had to see my florist, Fleur Chantant during my lunch break today.

The shop people are just amazing.
I would call them flower therapists because they instantly tell what I need as I enter the shop.

Today, they recommended me a plant called water mushroom, with shiitake-like round leaves.

And it's working.

I know I'm so behind, but that's how I feel about Lady Gaga lately - struck by a mix of flashlights and rainbows altogether.

この言葉、タイムリーにグッときました。

谷中生活9年。

ゆったり昭和な時が流れていることでおなじみの「谷根千」エリアではありますが

銭湯事情は結構変化しています：

・今年2月、徒歩5分のとこの「世界湯」（古今亭 志ん生も通ったという）

　が、惜しまれつつ暖簾を下ろす。　速攻解体されたので、ビビった。

・入湯料、400円から450円（10回回数券は 4200円）へと、11%上昇。

　物価高騰やなぁ...

自分の「初音湯」セット：柑橘系。

突如　先週ようやく LUSH に手を出した。意外と好きだ。

I was going to flatter my mother by saying,

"You look like Jane Fonda in this photo (with Richard Perry)... SORT OF, as far as your hairstyle and makeup are concerned."

But before the Soft-of line, she was quick enough to blush and brighten her eyes,

"Do I??? Do I look this beautiful??" listening to me no more.

But the thing is, she instantly got so cheeky and sweet, and DID win - to my myopic eyes - a bit of the beauty of the actress.

I've even listed candidate names for him - Buffy, Latte-chan, Kobe...
